The October 1, 2026 Site Search release adds a Zendesk connector option, Smart Answers support for the Angular UI Kit, and page-level robots directives for the crawler. It also updates crawler settings related to robots.txt and makes App Settings available across Search Profiles.

Zendesk Connector Option
Zendesk is available as a connector option when you create a Site Search app. Choose Zendesk as the platform.

Smart Answers for the Angular UI Kit
You can now use the Angular Answer Widget to add Smart Answers to search experiences built with the Angular UI Kit. See Angular - Answer Widget for usage and configuration.
Page-Level Robots Directives
The crawler now supports noindex and nofollow in robots meta tags and X-Robots-Tag response headers, plus rel="nofollow" on individual links. Use these directives to control indexing and link discovery. See Crawler.
