Site Search - Release Notes (August 6, 2026)

The August 6, 2026 release includes trends for Subscription usage, an option to crawl otherwise eligible pages that robots.txt blocks, and whole-word matching for Restricted Terms.

Added

New features and functionality.

The Subscription page now includes a Trends section with Requests Over Time and Items Over Time charts. Select Last 30 Days, Month to Date, or Last 3 Months to review usage over time.

You can view All Apps or select an individual app. For accounts with Sandbox Apps, the Trends charts show Production App usage only. They don't include Sandbox usage. Hover over a chart point to see the date and request or item count. The Last Updated timestamp shows when the data was refreshed in your local time.

Request trend history begins with data calculated after the feature is deployed. Earlier request usage isn't backfilled.

Ignore robots.txt in Crawler Settings

Crawler Settings now includes an Ignore robots.txt option. The option is unchecked by default, so the crawler respects robots.txt.

Check the option only if you own the website and have permission to crawl it. The option is available for new and existing crawlers. Existing crawlers continue to respect robots.txt unless you check Ignore robots.txt. When checked, the crawler attempts otherwise eligible pages that robots.txt disallows. Other crawler eligibility and configuration rules continue to apply.

Restricted Terms Match Whole Words and Phrases

Restricted Terms now match complete words and phrases within longer search queries. They don't match text inside longer words.

For example, a restricted term shoe matches running shoe but not shoes. A multi-word term such as new york matches hotels in new york but not new yorker magazine.
