SearchStax Site Search release notes for April 16, 2026 include crawler reuse across apps, crawler cleanup controls, and Copy App support for Auto-Suggest readiness checks.
Highlights
The most important updates in this release.
- Crawler reuse across apps: For accounts without Sandbox Apps, you can use one crawler in other production apps when at least one additional app is available.
- Crawler cleanup controls: Crawler now supports deleting indexed items from selected crawls, and crawler settings now point you to that cleanup path after changes are saved.
- Copy App support for Auto-Suggest: When you copy an app with Auto-Suggest enabled, Site Search checks whether Auto-Suggest is ready in the target app and tells you when to try again.
Added
New features and functionality.
Use This Crawler in Other Apps
For accounts without Sandbox Apps, Crawler settings show Use this crawler in other apps when at least one additional app is available.
The maximum number of additional apps equals the number of apps in the account, minus 1. If that value is 0, the Use this crawler in other apps section doesn’t appear.
After you apply secondary apps, subsequent crawls continue to push results to those secondary apps.
Delete Indexed Items from Crawler History
Crawler History now includes a delete action that lets you remove all indexed items from selected crawl events.
You can select crawler events unless their status is Crawling, Queued, Deleted, or Deleting. After you confirm deletion, the selected crawls move to Deleting, update automatically without a page refresh, and then move to Deleted when cleanup completes.
Crawler Custom Field Type
Crawler field setup now includes Custom as a field type.
Changed
Updates to existing features.
Copy App Includes Auto-Suggest Requirements
When you copy an app and Auto-Suggest is enabled in the source app, Site Search checks whether Auto-Suggest is already set up in the target app.
If Auto-Suggest is already set up in the target app, Copy App completes successfully. If not, Site Search starts setting up Auto-Suggest in the target app and asks you to try Copy App again after 10 minutes. If you try again before setup finishes, you'll see the same message.
Indexing Delay Updates During Plan Changes
When you upgrade to a paid plan with a shorter indexing delay, SearchStax automatically updates the delay as part of that plan change. You may need to complete a manual follow-up step, such as reloading your schema, before the new delay takes effect.
App Creation Limit Per Account
SearchStax now limits app creation to 10 apps in any 60-minute window per account. This limit applies at the account level, not by IP address, so you can keep adding apps as long as you stay under 10 in the last 60 minutes.
