Added

New features and functionality.

Copy App Configurations

You can now copy configuration settings between Site Search apps. Promote configurations across environments (dev to production) without support requests.

How It Works

To copy an app's configuration:

Search Apps page showing the Copy application icon in the Actions column for each app.

  1. From the top navigation, click the Apps dropdown, then click See All to open the Search Apps page.
  2. Click the Copy icon for the app you want to copy from.
  3. In the Copy & Replace Configurations window, select the Source App and Destination App, then click Next.

Copy and Replace Configurations window showing Source App, Languages, and Destination App selection fields.

  1. Review the confirmation message and click Copy App to proceed.

The copy operation transfers all configurations from the source app to the destination app, including:

  • All languages and their settings
  • All Search Profiles
  • Relevancy settings (Search Fields, Ranking, Data Filters, etc.)
  • Synonyms and Stopwords
  • Facets, Sorting, and Results Fields
  • Rules and other configurations

Note: Copying replaces all destination app configurations and cannot be undone. Search Profiles in the destination app that don't exist in the source app will be deleted. Review your selections carefully before confirming.

What's Not Copied

The following settings are preserved in the destination app:

  • Crawler settings: Crawler configurations stay as configured.
  • Access Management: User permissions and access settings stay as configured.
  • Promotions: If a Search Profile exists with the same name in both apps, the destination profile retains its existing Promotions (source Promotions are not copied). Profiles in the destination app that don't have a matching name in the source app will have their Promotions cleared.
  • Smart Match Assist: Smart Match Assist settings are preserved in the destination app and are not copied from the source app.

Requirements

  • The destination app must already exist in your account.
  • Source and destination apps must share the same schema (for example, both must be Drupal apps).
  • Only Owners and Administrators can copy app configurations.
  • This feature is available on select SearchStax plans. Access depends on your plan and how it was purchased. If you're unsure whether your plan includes this feature, contact your account representative or SearchStax Support.

Impact

Copying app configurations provides several benefits:

  • Faster deployments: Promote configurations from dev to staging to production without rebuilding settings.
  • Reduced errors: Eliminate mistakes from manual reconfiguration.
  • Self-service: Copy configurations without waiting for support.
  • Consistent environments: Match your production environment exactly to your tested configuration.
  • Audit trail: Copy actions are logged in Activity Logs for tracking and compliance.

Changed

Updates to existing features.

Multi-Site Search Management Expansion
