SearchStax hosts and configures the Optimizely connector. The connector indexes your published Optimizely content and makes the configured fields available to your Site Search app.
Note: Before you use this guide, review Ingesting Data with a CMS/DXP Connector. This guide explains what you need to provide to SearchStax to configure the Optimizely connector.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A SearchStax app.
- A SearchStax contact.
- Access to your Optimizely content endpoint information.
- Access to Content Management System > Settings > API Keys in Optimizely so you can obtain the HMAC key and secrets.
Find Your Optimizely Content Endpoint
Find the content endpoint for your Optimizely site.
A typical Optimizely content endpoint is:
https://cg.optimizely.com/content/v2
Your site might use a different endpoint. Confirm your endpoint before you provide it to SearchStax.
Find Your HMAC Credentials
To find the credentials that SearchStax needs to connect to Optimizely:
- In Optimizely, go to Content Management System > Settings > API Keys.
- Locate the HMAC key and secrets for your Optimizely content.
- Keep these credentials available to provide to your SearchStax contact.
Your SearchStax contact will tell you how to provide the credentials.
Choose Content Types And Fields
Decide which Optimizely content types you want to index and make searchable.
By default, the connector can map Optimizely content to these Site Search fields:
- Title
- URL
- Body
If you use custom content types or need additional fields, identify:
- The content types you want to index and make searchable.
- Any additional fields you want the connector to include.
- Any fields that you want mapped differently from the default mappings.
SearchStax uses this information to configure which content and fields the connector indexes.
Provide Configuration Details To SearchStax
Provide the following information to your SearchStax contact using the method they give you:
- Your Optimizely content endpoint.
- Your Optimizely HMAC key and secrets.
- The content types you want to index and make searchable.
- Any additional custom fields you want to include beyond the default title, URL, and body fields.
- Any different field mappings you want SearchStax to configure.
SearchStax uses this information to configure the Optimizely connector.
Configure Results Fields In Site Search
After SearchStax configures the connector and your content is indexed:
- Open your Site Search app.
- Go to Basic Configurations > Results Fields.
- Set your Results Fields to match the fields configured for the Optimizely connector.
The fields available here depend on how the connector was configured.
What’s Next
After you assign your Results Fields, continue configuring your Site Search app.
